Rochester Chamber Music Society presents Marinus Ensemble playing German Classics

The Marinus Ensemble presents Grace Park, Ellen Hwangbo, Joseph Kuipers and Rachel Kuipers Yonan playing German Classics. The program features Mozart’s iconic Piano Quartet No. 1, Schubert’s autumnal Notturno in E-Flat Major and Schumann’s lush Piano Quartet in the same key. This concert is presented by the Rochester Chamber Music Society.

From the Metropolitan Opera, Santiago Philharmonic and Curtis Institute, these artists promise to delight you with a program of Faure, Piazzolla, and Debussy! This concert is presented by the Smedes Parlor series at the St. Mary’s School in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The ever-changing, ever-engaging Marinus Ensemble is flexible in size and shape to accommodate a broad range of repertoire. Focused on a threefold mission of chamber concerts, audience interaction, and residencies, Marinus counts many Curtis alumni among its members. For this special recital, another Curtis alumnus joins Marinus as a guest: Michael Rusinek, principal clarinet of the Pittsburgh Symphony, noted for his “lavish, supple timbre” (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette).

Explore the concept of nationalism in music with the varied program featuring works of Turina, Rota, Chausson and Shostakovich. We will feature renowned artists Francesca dePasquale, Elizabeth Fayette, Rachel Kuipers Yonan, Young-Ah Tak, Sarah Shafer and guest cellist Nina Lee of the Brentano Quartet.
